Meet the speakers from Pipeline Integrity 2009



Ahmed Albosaeedi has 16 years of experience working with ADGAS in the Inspection department. He has a degree in Chemical Engineering. Much of his working experience is related in the field of corrosion, cathodic protection, and RBI and assets integrity management. Mr. Albosaeedi has been a member of the prestigious National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) since 1995.

Cees Cornelis Bal is from The Hague, The Netherlands, and possesses a Mechanical Engineering degree from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam. He also has a degree in management of middle size companies, has undergone various marketing and negotiation courses as well as pipeline design and maintenance courses.

His experience includes working in the design department of a company called Nevesbu dedicated to the ship building industry from 1961 – 1963. His main experience however is in the pipeline industry that began with King Wilkinson in 1965 as a designer and project engineer for pipelines design, construction and commissioning until 1972. This was followed by an intensive career in all aspects of pipelines pigging; from cleaning pigging to inspection pigging for PEB as a TDW representative in Europe and the Middle East.

He then specialized in pipeline inspection pigging for ROSEN in Europe and later in the Middle East, where he is presently the Chief Executive Officer of LIN SCAN.

All in all, Cees Cornelis Bal’s career and experience extends over a 40 year period.

Ibrahim Washash has a BSc. in Chemical Engineering from Wales University and an MSc. in Corrosion Science & Engineering from the City of London University. After working with BOC Murex, he joined Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA) as a corrosion engineer and later in 1996 became the section head of the corrosion group. At ADMA he managed several projects including water injection pipe network cleaning, development and management of the main lines corrosion control strategies & pipelines network corrosion monitoring strategy.

In 2001, he joined ADCO as Sr. corrosion Engineer and later Sr. Specialist (Pipeline Integrity), mainly managing the ADCO pipeline network technical integrity and ADCO pipelines ILI project manager.

John Healy has 15 years of experience in providing integrity management services to the Oil & Gas industry worldwide; covering structures and pipelines. His previous project experience covers expertise in areas including Materials & Welding Technology, Risk Assessments, Fitness-For-Purpose evaluations and Remaining Life Assessment.

Mahmoud Selim graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He has over 25 years of multidisciplinary experience in the area of integrity. He has developed/retrofitted corrosion control and inspection/monitoring programs for several operations including oil, gas, water and LNG plants. Mr. Mahmoud presently works in the ADGAS inspection department and much of his working experience is related to the field of corrosion control, RBI, material selection, cathodic protection, chloride Risk Rating (RR) and asset integrity management. Mr. Selim has also been a member of the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) since 1990.

Prof. Dr. Eng. Moustafa Mohammed El-Gammal ia an ameritus Professor, Faculty of Engineering and Consultant Engineer, Corrosion and Protection Systems Designer University of Alexandria, Egypt Prof. Dr. El-Gammal is in the Who’s Who, International Encyclopedia, Science and Engineering, 2006/2007, - 21st Scientists of the World, IBC-International Biographical Cambridge Research Centre–2007. He is the Ex- Head of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, Alexandria University and the Ex Head of 8th Committee of Professorships and Associates- Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities. He offers consultancy in field of corrosion protection system designs. He is also a consultant for well reputed companies in Egypt, irrigation projects, water siphons and marine structures as well as off shore platforms and deep sea pipelines.

Mechanical Engineer by profession, Durga Murti has spent over 20 years in the Oil and Gas industry (upstream/ midstream/ downstream), operations and consultancy including Integrity Management of fixed assets and pipelines. He represents the Oil industry in the CDIO (Conceive, Design, Implement, Operate) Panel which requires him to visit engineering institutes of repute around the globe. Mr. Murti has several papers to his credit on Oil/Gas business.

Na’el Barghouti is the Integrity Management Commercial Account Manager for GE's Oil & Gas PII Pipeline Solutions business. He is responsible for supporting customers worldwide in the development of Pipeline Integrity Management Systems (PIMS) and the Integrity Management Process.

Na’el joined GE in 2005 as a project manager responsible for executing multi-million dollar accounts in the Gulf region before advancing to the current commercial management role. Na’el is now based in Newcastle, United Kingdom.

Before joining GE, Na’el worked with Oil & Gas operators in the Gulf region in the corrosion engineering and integrity management practice and has deep understanding of the regional pipeline integrity management infrastructure.

Na’el holds a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry from the Applied Science University in Amman, Jordan.

Partha Jana is an Electrical Engineering graduate from Srinagar, Kashmir (India). He has vast experience of more than 22 years in the construction, operation & maintenance of high pressure Natural Gas & LPG cross country pipelines, specializing in the cathodic protection system, commissioning and pigging of pipelines.

He has worked in Afghanistan as a Consultant to Asian Development Bank for the rehabilitation programme of the Oil & Gas Sector in Afghanistan. Aside from being a panel member for preparing BIS(IS-8062) standards for Cathodic Protection, Mr. Jana is an active member of NACE International and the recipient of Corrosion Awareness Award bestowed by NACE International (Indian Section).
